How Hypnosis works in relation to weight loss.
The science of losing weight is far more complicated than simply eating less. If that was the case, most people would do just that. We eat
and overeat for many reasons. In a vast majority of cases often that reason is a form of 'self-medicating' in order to dampen down emotions or as a form of reward. Some of the other reasons we overeat are listed herewith:
- To reward ourselves
- Out of habit
- As a form of self-nurturing
- To feel loved
- To feel comforted
- To stuff emotions down instead of processing them
- As a reaction to emotional stress
- As a way to avoid confrontation
- Out of boredom
- When we feel broken hearted
- As a form of protection
Of course, this does not cover ALL of the reasons, but, if we look at the myriad of reasons we overeat it's easy
to see how we can very easily become overweight. Furthermore, if we look at the Psychology behind the process of overeating we can easily see why it's not as simple as eat less, exercise more. Although, some people will argue that
point, and that's okay as those two components do make up a very big part of health care management.
Weight loss Hypnosis allows an individual to get in touch with the part of themselves that desires real change and intuitively knows what the PURR-FECT
(aka perfect) shape and size is for YOUR body. Hypnosis of this type is about allowing yourself to bypass the critical self and tap into the intuitive self.
When undertaking Weight Loss Hypnosis, it's important you are
doing it for you, not for a partner, or a friend, or anyone else, except for you.
How many sessions will I need?
The short answer here is 3. We scientifically know it takes 30 days
to break a habit. Overeating is a HABIT. Most times, our first session is spent EXPLORING why you overeat, and how we can assist in overriding and eliminating the REASON behind the need to overeat.
Some clients report amazing and even drastic results in 1 session, however, as experienced and accredited Hypnotherapists we believe a minimum of 3 sessions is required in order to provide you with the very best chance of achieving and maintaining
your weight loss goals.
What type of results can I expect?
There is a huge amount of variance in the results we see. Some clients report losing 2kgs in the first week, some report 1/2 kilo. On occasion, we have
had clients report weight loss up to 4kgs!
There are many factors that determine how much you will lose, some of these factors are:
- How much exercise you do during the week
- How much water you consume each
- How much time you spend inactive vs. active
- How many steps you take per day
- How much weight you need to lose from the outset
- Body Type
- Sleep Patterns
- The type of work you do
- Calories in vs.
All of the above items are addressed during the Hypnotic process.
Results do vary and there is no way we can give a defined amount of weight loss per session. We can, however, tell you that with Hypnosis
you are on track to improved health and wellbeing.
